Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
If there ever was a time to seek the Lord it's right now.
It's time to as the Amplified version says to: 'Break up your uncultivated ground'
Or as the Messsge puts it: 'it's time to dig in with GOD'.
That means to allow the Holy Spirit to show areas of our lives that are not bearing fruit and to dig them, break them up so they can be.
Many years ago I had a vision when I was praying. I saw my life as a farm. With fences and paddocks, different sections. Each surrounded by a fence and gate.
I remember looking and seeing my garden as fruitful and blossoming. This represented my devotional time with the Lord.
But other areas like my relationship with my parents, my work place, was hard, barren and full of weeds.
Thinking I was praying an acceptable and spiritual prayer I prayed, 'God I let you into all areas of my life.'
Straight away Holy Spirit sharply replied something like this: 'I am not a dog that you can let me in as you will. I never put the fences or gates there in the first place I want every area of your life.'
I fell to my knees and repented. God wanted all of my life to be His, without boundaries. He wanted access to every area and for every area to be fruitful.
Today allow the Holy Spirit access to your life. Take down the fences and gates. Break up, repent of areas that you have kept off limits, so He can make them fruitful.
Prayer:
Father today I choose to seek Your face. I give You Holy Spirit access to every area of my life. Help me to break up the hard areas that I might be fruitful in the future in Jesus' name amen.
