Keep On Loving Others

Aiden Matthams

Hebrews 6:11-12 Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.

Sometimes, when we go through our own personal battles and wars in life we can forget the person in front of us who needs encouragement and love just like you and I do. But here, it says that loving others on the journey actually is the journey itself. Keep on loving others, then what you hope for will come true. That's cool! It's so easy to be selfish. So easy to get preoccupied in our own lives, but when we begin to look outward, the perspective changes. Yesterday in church I walked in really just dry and disengaged. It wasn't until we began to pray earnestly for the children in church that suddenly the light seemed to break through. Sometimes the battle is just to get out of your own head and pray for someone else. Loving others is the antidote for indifference and hard heartedness.

Let's take this antidote and look for ways to love others. Amen! Prayer:

Lord help us to love others as long as life lasts. Let all dryness, coldness, and indifference be broken through the power of the love of God. In Jesus' name Amen.
