You are CALLED to be a MINISTER

Matt Richards

2 Corinthians 5:17,18 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].

Reconciliation: [a situation in which two people or groups of people become friendy again after they have argued: It took hours of negotiations to bring about a reconciliation between the two sides. the process of making two opposite beliefs, ideas, or situations agree] Super proud of Kevin (who happens to have his birthday today) He is at the end of a prison sentence and has done amazing in prison. He has done the 'Jesus Way' Discipleship course. Has consequently forgiven and been forgiven of some serious stuff. Consequently he has been healed of a thyroid condition and is absolutely on fire for Jesus. He has lead anywhere between fifteen to twenty people to Jesus.Thirteen of which he has got to read the ' tough talk' book, many have done the discipleship course. He used to be called 'Archie' (after the artful dodger in Oliver twist) The inmates and officers now call him ' Father Kev' or 'Rev Kev.' As with chapel still being in lock down he has lead a bible study of ten men, and daily prayer. He got work doing maintenance inside, just so he can go cell to cell sharing his faith. Kevin has split up many, many fights on his wing and brought people together. He has made a huge difference where he is. You see he has a ministry of reconciliation. This amazing passage says that when we become born again, everything changes, our past is gone and everything becomes new. Even our name. We are reconciled (brought into favour and harmony with Him). And because we are reconciled we are given the ministry of reconciling others to Jesus and even to each other. Absolutely love it. So proud of Kevin. So proud. You know if you are a Christian, you like Kevin are called not to be a spectator but a minister. A minister of reconciliation. I don't know where your parish is or your sphere of influence but let me encourage you to step out into your ministry and like Father Kev make a difference where you are.

Prayer:

Father thank You through Jesus I am reconciled to You. Thank You that You have called me to be a minister of reconciliation. Help me to be a bridge too many, connecting them with You. Help me to make a difference and help me to bring peace to those around me in Jesus name amen. Oh and Lord so please bless Kevin and pour out Your spirit in Norwich prison let there be a move of the Holy Spirit that spreads like fire throughout the men bringing you Glory and Honour in Jesus name amen.
