Acts 1:4-8 "And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We surely need the Holy Spirit like never before! He comes to dwell in every believer when they get born again, but the baptism of the Holy Spirit is when you recieve POWER.
It was necessary for the disciples (who had walked with Jesus those 3 whole years) to be filled with the Holy Spirit. It was also necessary for the early church to be filled (more than once) with fresh fire from Heaven. It was necessary to speak in tongues, to prophesy, and to move in the power of the Holy Spirit.
In fact, it wasn't just a nessesity, but it was also a promise...and not just any promise, but the Promise of the Father.
His power and His anointing is sacred. It is a precious gift, and a wonderful privilege that God the Father willingly gives to His children.
You SHALL be baptized with the Holy Spirit. It's the will of God.
Are you ready for an encounter with God the Holy Spirit, and a fresh baptism of power from on High? Have you been waiting? Expecting? Believing? Are you hungry for more? Wanting to experience revival?
Open your heart to Him. Ask and you shall recieve by faith. God is ready to pour out His Spirit like He said He would.
Prayer:
Father thank You for sending the Promise! Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to dwell in our hearts and to fill us with Power from on High. We want to be witnesses and we want to manifest Your Glory to this city and nation, and to the ends of the earth! Would You pour out Your Spirit Lord, in Jesus' name Amen!
