Psalm 17:15 "As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness."
This here is a major key to becoming who God has called us to be. To seek God's face, until we awake in His likeness.
In other words, to go after His presence and His person, until we become
like Him.
It's easy to get side tracked from this. Sometimes the focus gets shifted to all kinds of other things.
But as it says in 2 Corinthians 3:18,
"...but we all, beholding as in a mirror the glory of God, are being transformed in to the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
I want to see His glory. Even Jesus when He walked on this earth, pursued the glory, when He took Peter, James, and John up the mountain, and the glory came down on them, and Jesus was transfigured, when His face shone like the sun.
And the voice of God spoke again saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I'm well pleased, Hear Him."
If it was necessary for Jesus to see the face of God, then it's necessary for us also.
Prayer:
God we want to see Your glory. We want to see Your face, so we can be like YOU, and be changed by You. We chose today to seek Your face until we awake in Your likeness! In Jesus' name, Amen.
