Testimony And Target

Matt Richards

John 12:9 When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well, because on account of him many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.

Lazarus was a living miracle. He who was dead was now alive.

Many people came to church gatherings to see the miracle of Lazarus resurrection. Some came, however, to try to put him to death.

Maybe you should have been dead. You are a walking, talking, living, breathing miracle. A billboard, an advert of what God can do.

And because of what God's done in your life many people will come to Jesus.

But not all that come to church are there to find Jesus. The chief priests were looking to put Lazarus to death.

You too, your life can also become a target. The devil has planned to kill you. He wants to bring people into your life to extinguish the flame, to irradicate the sign, the testimony that points to Jesus.

There will be jealous ones sent in assignment even to church. While people are coming to Jesus, their one purpose is to kill your testimony.

Don't be naive, be discerning. Don't let those with ulterior motives stop you shining for Jesus.

As soon as Lazarus was raised from the dead he became a testimony and a target. We are in a war. God has done marvelous things, you are both a testimony and you are a target.

Prayer:

Father thank You for the miracles in my life. Give me discernment and wisdom today to recognise every threat. Keep my testimony and life, preserve me that I might be a sign that makes people wonder and points people to Jesus.

In Jesus' name amen.
