Matt Richards
2 Kings 5:13-14 And his servants came near and said to him, My father, if the prophet had bid you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much rather, then, when he says to you, Wash and be clean? Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a little child, and he was clean.
Just love this story. Love it. Many people miss out on Salvation, healing and deliverance because they won't do the things God tells them to do. (Sometimes simple but humbling things.) Naaman reluctantly obeyed and got in the river. (This is a type of baptism, in water, and Holy Spirit). Many people dip their big toe in the river of God. But it takes being fully submerged. Being fully committed; being over our heads. Not only did he have to go under, but he had to do it seven times. Imagine if after going under once he gave up and said this is ridiculous; I look stupid and nothing has changed. He would have missed his miracle. Twice, three times, four, and five. Still absolutely nothing then six then on the seventh time he comes up the same as the previous times, but this time the leprosy has fallen off him. And he has brand new skin like a baby. You know as a Radical follower of Jesus I need to get fully into God and the Holy Spirit. The river of God. I have to be in over my head (my brain, my logic). You know one dip isn't enough either. Many people have one dip in the presence of God, the river of God and give up. Stay in the river. Some things only fall off after a good soaking. Stay in there long enough, then when you do get out you will find that you will never be the same again. You will be unrecognisable, even to yourself. You will be like a new born. Born again brand new. Stay in the river until the Holy Spirit has finished with you. Take another dip. Prayer:
Father thank You for the river of God. I choose to get in the river, to get in over my head. To take another dip until I am totally changed and brand new in Jesus' Name Amen.
