Matt Richards
Exodus 14 Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest. The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward!
When the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt through the plagues, it was miraculous. Soon however the enemy persued them and it seemed hopeless that as the sea was in front of them and the Egyptians behind them.
It is the same with us. When you first become a Christian all is marvellous and then after a period of time the devil persues you and wants you back.
The devil's stupid and all we have to do is be confident that God will make a way, fight for us; never go back. Be confident, the only way is forward.
The way is not around but through. The devil may follow you like the Egyptians, but he will be consumed on the journey. If you keep going you will see him no more.
There's a time to cry and pray but there's also a time to go forward.
It's on the journey in obedience, deliverance comes. Never go back.
Shut your mouth and stop whinging about going back; and go forwards and see a right freedom.
There's power in the going.
Prayer:
Father I choose to be still and know You are God. I am confident that I can go forwards with Your strength and that I will not see these same enemies pursuing me after this. Thank You that You are the way maker and that You fight for me. In Jesus' Name Amen.
