Ephesians 2:18-19 "For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,"
Have you ever felt like a misfit? A stranger who no one recognises? Maybe you know what it feels like to walk around in today's culture and feel like you come from a different planet.
You know it's very easy to feel alienated in today's mad world. Many people feel like strangers as soon as they step out the front door. Like a space man stepping on to mars...a feeling of "I just don't belong here."
Especially in such weird times, it can be disorientating.
It's a lonely feeling...but I want you to know this: You're not alone! Another thing I want to say to you is that you are not a freak, you're unique. Don't try to change and fit in to this world.
This culture isn't our culture. Our culture is the Kingdom of God. That's why, whatever your background, or your race, or your nationality is, being a child of God is your true identity.
In light of Fathers Day, I want to say to you that God, our Great Father of mercy and love, has welcomed you in to His household. And heaven is your true home, where Jesus has prepared a place for each one of us!
Thank God we aren't sentenced to eternity in this world of weirdness. There's a place in the eternal glory of God that will forever and ever be home.
So put the temporal things aside today. Take a break from political madness, media confusion, cultural dispute, racial disputes, cricis, misinformation, distractions, and divisions.
Cast off the burdens of this world, remember this isn't home, it's just part of the journey home.
Come in to God's presence and remember His blessings and promises!
Prayer:
Thank You God that even if I'm an alien in this world, I'm a citizen of Your Kingdom!
Thank You that I'm in the family of God, though faith in Jesus Christ. Thank You I have brothers and sisters, aunties, uncles, grandads, grannies, and parents in this household!
Thank You for my heavenly home! In Jesus' name Amen
