Psalm 40:12 And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.
Yesterday we looked at not being a victim but manning up. I so love that song 'I am no victim.'
Many years ago a mother in the Lord who I miss immensely (Rita) said she was proper feeling sorry for herself about some really bad things she was going through.
She was praying to the Lord but it was more like moaning. Let me tell you she was entirely entitled to be upset it was some bad stuff.
But she was in self pity.
The Lord suddenly interrupted her complaints saying to her "will you just sing me a new song".
It was a sharp rebuke and she was shocked .
She began to focus on the goodness of God and praise Him in song; and you know what the presence of God fell in her room.
Sometimes we just need to sing the Lord a new song.
We have sung the blues too long. We have complained, winged, lamented, and sang about our loss.
When we change our focus and praise God He comes.
What song are you singing?
Why not change your song, your confession.

Prayer:
Father forgive me for being negative all the time. I choose to sing a New Song. I choose to be thankful. Help me Holy Sprit put a new song in my mouth today in Jesus' Name, Amen.
