2 Timothy 4:1 I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favourable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
---- 'Be true to your heart' seems to be a mantra of a generation. 'If It feels good do it.' There are many following their own desires, and then look for teachers or churches that accommodate their truth their myth. But the Bible is true even if it doesn't fit a politically correct lgbt, woke, ' you can live any way you want' without consequences narrative. People reject the truth of the Bible because it doesn't fit their lifestyle. They want a 'today's lifestyle style church'. If church contradicts with how their living they ignore it.They then look for teachers who will tell them what they want to hear. Jesus loves you and you don't need to change. Low cost, low maintenance, shallow Christianity. Whatever time it is, favourable or not; its time for the Church not compromise; but stand on the Word and preach the truth. Preach it in love, but preach the truth non the less. Many will refuse to listen, put their fingers in their ears and ignore sound doctrine. Some will even hate us. But many will listen and be Saved. Let's use the Bible : that is apply it to patiently correct, rebuke and encourage folks with good teaching. For perilous times are ahead where many will have a form of godliness, but lack any power. Let's be myth busters and preach the Word, apply it and chase after God. Prayer:
Thank You Father for Your Word, help us to not follow after our own desires but Yours. Help us to be open to correction, rebuke and encouragement today in Jesus name amen.
