It's A Game Of Two Halves

Matt Richards

Job 42:10 When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before! 12 So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning...

People always say about football its 'a game of two halves.' It can look really bad in the first half; but in the second half everything can change.

Here everything went wrong for Job. He suffered such great loss, at no fault of his own.

When everybody, including many of his friends thought he'd done wrong, was being punished; or should just give up his faith, God blessed him in the second half.

Never write anybody off. Never write yourself off. Maybe all has gone wrong with you too and you have suffered great loss and tragedy. But it's not over; it's just half time: It's a game of two halves.

Don't let self-pity take you out. Change your tactic, change your focus away from yourself and your loss. Pray for your friends.

Job did; and the second half of his life was far greater than the beginning.

It's not over. Change your focus and pray for others. It's a game of two halves and God will even yet restore to you double.

Prayer:

Father forgive me for looking backwards. Forgive me for my self pity. Thank You for the second part of my life. Thank You for double restoration in this season in Jesus' name amen.
