Matt Richards
Acts 18:14-15 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law.” But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, I would have reason to accept your complaint.
This man is seducing people into acts of worship that are illegal."(MSG)
This fellow is advising and inducing and inciting people to worship God in violation of theLaw [of Rome and of Moses].(AMP)
Ha Ha! This passage jumped out at me today.
Paul was accused of inciting people, advising people, inducing, persuading and encouraging people to worship God in a way that is contrary to the law and also church rules.
Both the religious system (the church) and the authorities weren't happy. But he continued. I will say that again. He continued.
You know some are accusing me of the same. To gather together, to worship Jesus with unveiled, unmasked face. To praise out loud.
Yep! Guilty as charged. These are times, like Paul to worship God contrary to the law.
Never going to stop gathering, never going to stop praising out loud.
The haters will always hate, the praisers will always praise.
For praising out loud you can make a difference, make a stand today and praise God.
Prayer:
Father thank You for Your Word that has the answers even for today. Help me to have the boldness of Daniel and Paul and continue in my prayers and praise when it's forbidden today in Jesus' name amen.
