Exodus 1:8 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go back to Pharaoh and announce to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so they can worship me.
You know it's all about worship. This whole battle is about preventing you, preventing me, preventing the church worship.
The devil wants to stop you worshipping Jesus. He will do everything he can to prevent your worship.
Here the children of God, the church were told to go and worship corporately. That's gather together in one place away from the world for the soul reason to worship.
Pharaoh said "no". He could have said, "hey why can't you just worship in your homes, or on a zoom call. After all Moses the church is not a building, but individuals, people. You are the church, you don't need to gather. Now get back to your isolation and work for me."
( Haha I'm just messing with you, but get the picture.)
Often than not there is a massive spiritual battle trying to prevent saints going to church. That's why often everything will go wrong; just before you get to church on a Sunday.
It's not coincidental the kids play up, the car has trouble, you feel unwell, or you get an urgent phone call.
When there is a spiritual battle to prevent you going, it shows the importance of it.
After Moses announced he was taking all the people to worship, all hell broke loose to stop him.
God still wants worshippers. He still wants gathered worship. Singing out loud, unmasked extravagant praise. (Get over it.)
Here's the bad news the devil wants to stop you worshipping. Here's the good news: God will dramatically and supernaturally deliver His church from the slavery of the devil to have gathered worship.
So what's the Lord saying in this season. Be safe, have a slave mentality, be obedient to your masters? Er no, could He be saying: "let my people go so they may worship me?"
In fact, Egypt who had once been a blessing and a sanctuary to God's people, had now become a curse and a prison. But God used this bad situation to deliver His people once and for all.
Could it be God wants to deliver His church from slavery so that they may worship?
I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want...I want a church on fire for Jesus praising and worshipping Him with everything they have.
You see it's all about worship.
Prayer:
Father help me in this season to be a worshipper. Help me to be bold and courageous. Deliver Your people from the oppression of the worlds system that we may truly worship Jesus collectively in spirit and in truth. In Jesus' name amen.
