Acts 13:22 But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to.
David was a man after God's own heart.
He had many failings and fallings, but he was after God's heart.
David means beloved.
You know God will do wonders for the person, no matter their shortcomings; if they are God's beloved.
There's so much power in intimacy.
Before any ministry, any accomplishments, any pioneering, I want to be His beloved.
I have a ministry, you have a ministry, an audience of one.
Before anything and anybody else. It's Jesus first. I minister to Him. Without the worship team, without the Sunday service, without any prompting or directing I want to kove Jesus and have a heart after God in the secret place.
Everything we do should flow out of intimacy. Out of closeness, out of a heart after Him.
It's easy for our hearts to grow hard or cold or even forget what it's all truly about.
Pray this prayer with me to return to your first love. Let Jesus be your beloved.
Prayer:
Father forgive me for growing cold. Forvive me for not loving You as I used too. Help me Holy Spirit to love Jesus today and have a heart after God. Help me to live in the revelation of being Your beloved in Jesus' name amen.
