Having an Encounter With God

Aiden Matthams

Acts 9:3-6 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

I love that God can show up and do whatever He wants. Many people have a problem with manifestations of the Holy Spirit, but if we read the bible, we can clearly see that crazy stuff happens when God comes down.

When God touched Paul, he fell off his horse, trembling (shaking) and astonished, and was blind for 3 whole days...and that was how God saw fit to begin Paul's life in Christ and ministry to the world.

That's awesome. The necessity for an encounter with God is vital. If they needed it in those days, how much more do we need it in these days that we live in now.

Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit to come upon them so that they shall receive power.

They where already Christians. They had already walked with Jesus and it was still necessary to have an encounter with Almighty God, before they where sent to fulfill the call on their lives.

Oh LORD, how we need the power in this time we are living in.

Do you have a desire to fulfill the assignment on your life? Perhaps it's time for an encounter.

Do you have a desire to be useful in service, to bring in a mighty harvest and to run the race with all endurance till the very end? It's time for an encounter.

Do you feel inside yourself that you KNOW that you are meant for adventure, meant for revival, meant for something bigger than you? Destiny?

It's time for an encounter with GOD.

It starts with that motive. I want to SEE the God of the bible at work here on the Earth in my lifetime. I want Him to touch me, like He touched the early Church, and I want Him to use me like He used them.

I don't care what it looks like... if He has to knock me off my high horse like He did to Paul, then SO BE IT. I just want to meet God in a new way.

Perhaps you feel the same way? I believe you and I are getting ready for a fresh outpouring. Let's go after God!

Prayer:

Father I'm hungry for You. I want to meet with You. I want a fresh touch of heaven on my life, and a fresh revelation of Jesus in my heart. I want You to send me! Show me what to do and where to go and fill me with POWER to get the job done. I believe it's coming, and I thank You for getting us ready. In Jesus' name Amen.
