Hands Off My Field

Matt Richards

1 Chronicles 11:14 He was with David at Pas-dammim [where David had long before slain Goliath], and there the Philistines were gathered for battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley or lentils; and the men [of Israel] fled before the Philistines. And Eleazar [one of the Three] stood in the midst of that plot and defended it and slew the Philistines [until his hand was weary, and his hand cleaved to the sword], and the Lord saved by a great victory and deliverance.

Eleazar what a hero. When all the men had fled; he stood and defended the field and won a great victory for the Lord.

What I love about this scripture is this man's courage and endurance. He had had enough. He fought so hard that it says his sword cleaved to his hand.

That means his sword fused or stuck into his hand. Wow! What a picture. His sword and him become one.

Oh that when you are in battle that the Word (your sword) and you become one. Part of you. That you start speaking out the Word without thinking, where it becomes second nature to you. It's then you will see mighty victory.

There's a time when everybody legs it from the battle and it's just a couple of you left. It might just look like a small lentil field, but enough is enough and devil it might be small but it's not yours and you ain't having it.

You may feel weary but when defending your family, your friends, your city, your sphere of influence, your field. Speak out the Word of faith and see the Lord bring a great victory.

Prayer:

Father I choose to stand my ground. Let the Word cleave to me that we become one. Help me to respond to every attack with the bible and see a great victory today in Jesus' Name Amen.
