Hebrews 11:16 But the truth is that they were yearning for and aspiring to a better and more desirable country, that is, a heavenly [one]. For that reason God is not ashamed to be called their God [even to be surnamed their God—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob], for He has prepared a city for them.
Hebrews 11 is described by many as the great chapter in the bible on faith. It describes Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and Sarah, all who were men and women of faith.
All did amazing things prompted by, urged by, and because of faith. You know without faith it is impossible to please God. But with faith, like these above you can please and even delight God. Infact you can so please God that not only is He pleased with you he includes you in His Name. 'The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.' But not only that: but the God of Matt, the God of Beth, the God of Leon, the God of Dora; and you can put your name here. I am here to tell you that you may have been through hell, but if you have faith and been faithful God puts you in His name. Wow just love that. You can tell a lot about someone by their name. Well He is my God, my Lord and Saviour. I am His and He is mine. You are my God and I am; well Your child: we've got the same name. Prayer:
Thank You Lord for faith. Help me to be a man of faith. Thank You that because of Faith You are well pleased with me. Thank You that it is personal and You include me in Your name and I include You in mine. That's amazing. Thank You, thank You, thank You in Jesus' wonderful Name Amen.
