Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
One of the hardest things to do is to keep your mouth shut when people persecute you. But you know it doesn't just stop there. We don't just have to stop being re-active and keep our mouths shut, stop responding with cursing; or even stop defending ourselves. But we have to be pro-active to speak out blessings and love our enemies. Whoa! that's so difficult. What a crazy, mixed up, upside down way this Christian way is. It goes against everything that seems right and fair. When people curse and abuse us we dont retaliate, but bless and love. Doesn't mean you don't set Godly boundaries and protect yourself n loved ones, but you respond by praying and blessing them. There are times I have wanted to respond and tell the whole world, "it's all lies and I can prove it." But I'm not playing by those rules. I won't be brought down to that level. I'm not playing that game. I am called to pray and bless. The more I pray and bless, the less of a hold it has on me. I find my desire to be proved right go. I truly want those who want to be my enemy blessed. I really do. I kind of feel real sorry for them to be honest. It's amazing, the power of forgiveness, blessing, and prayer. That's crazy love. How about you? Who do you need to pray for, love and bless today? Prayer:
Father I chose to bless my enemies, those that speak bad things about me and my family. Touch them, heal their hurting hearts, let them increase, and be blessed. Restore and touch them, let them know Your love today in Jesus' Name Amen.
