Comforted So That We Can Comfort Others

Aiden Matthams

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.'

Sometimes we have to go through trials so that we can be a blessing to others in the future.

The trial comes to us, we receive help from God, and the help we receive then overflows to others.

Whatever is happening in your life today, know this, that God will see you through it and you will be a blessing and a help to someone else in the process.

Paul the writer of this letter, knew what it meant to go through fiery trials. In verse 8 and 9 he describes it:

"....we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life. Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who divered us from so great a death, and does deliver us."

We may not be in so great a peril as Paul was, but you get the picture. We trust in the same God that saw him through, who raises the dead, heals, and delivers.

The end result will be that we can reach back to these moments and say with confidence, that what He did for me, He can do for you.

So trust the process! Get your eyes on Jesus and hold fast. Miracles are coming, healing is coming, comfort from heaven is on its way! Just hold the line, stand firm, and watch God bring about His deliverance!

Prayer:

Lord thank You that You are the God that raises the dead and delivers Your people! We put our faith in You and we trust You! Thank You that help is on the way, and we choose to focus on You today. Amen
