Be faithful

Matt Richards

Luke 16:10-13 If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? And if you are not faithful with other people’s things, why should you be trusted with things of your own? No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”

You know integrity is really important. It's so important to be honest with the small things as well as the big.

I have seen some of poorest people who are the most generous and I have some rich people be mean.

This is not always the case. I have seen many poor people mean too. Many in church too.

Perhaps because of a false prosperity Gospel persuading and manipulating folks to 'sow their seed now' many have thrown the baby out with the bath water.

But God wants you and me to be faithful with our worship. Faithful with our time and yep with our money. Truth right there.

One time many many years ago I knew a millionaire who sponsored a whole orphanage in India. How amazing is that!

I remember saying God if I was rich I would do that. But the Holy Spirit replied like, He often does and said well what about now? What will you do now?

So long story short, twenty years ago we started sponsoring an Orphanage in India with what we had.

And you know it wasn't as dramatic as the millionaire friend, but it was and is significant. It is miraculous!

But here's the thing, I was so generous with money I didn't have. But to be honest it was make believe. Because if I can't give God ten percent of ten pounds or sponsor one child now then you know what if I am a millionaire I won't either.

You see you have to be faithful with the little.

The same principal in every aspect of ministry.

Will I be faithful if there's just me at the prayer meeting? Will I be faithful to stop to talk to the one as well as the crowd?

Will I be faithful when no one is applauding or watching?

What you do right now in the hidden place can and will determine what you do in the open. Be faithful.

Prayer:

Father help me to be faithful. Forgive me for being shallow. Help me to not despise the day of small beginnings. Thank You for all Your doing right now I give you glory. In Jesus Name, Amen!
