Rest Assured

Matt Richards

Psalm 37:7 Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

Continuing Psalm 37:

First don't FRET.

Then second TRUST.

Third DELIGHT.

Fourth COMMIT

and

Fifth REST. You know there's a beautiful order to this. When we choose not to fear. Then we then choose to trust. Then we delight and enjoy God from this. We then commit everything to Him. After this we just WAIT and REST. There's a place of being still. When you've done everything, just stand. A place of rest a place of faith where you put your feet up. A place where we are positioned, seated with Him and we allow Him to work and fight for us. He has made our enemies His footstool so in Christ, satan is under my feet too. Romans 16 says the God of peace will soon crush satan. Peace and rest can be a powerful spiritual weapon. Waiting for God is not like waiting for the dentist or something bad. But more like waiting for Christmas or your birthday. There is an expectant faith (William Lee) which is different. It's full of hope and excitement that good stuff is on the way. In a crazy world of aggro and stress; in Jesus there's Rest Assured.

Come to me and I'll give you rest. I am as the Message says, quieting down. I'm letting go and letting God.

Prayer:

Father I choose to rest in You today. I have expectant faith that You are working on my behalf. I quiet myself down and wait for You. Thank You, You are never late but always on time. I am excited about what You are already doing and will do today in Jesus' Name Amen.
