Romans 15:13 May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
You know for many people it's not the most wonderful time of the year; but the worst.
Christmas is a reminder of lost loved ones, not being able to see their children, or just feeling broke and lonely.
There is so much pressure on people, its quite sad. There is lots of want.. You know people don't need 'stuff'. We often make the good—intentioned mistake that they do. (They don't need patronising, giving them some money and gifts and then taking a selfie for the world to see.)
People truly are in want of dignity, respect, and love. Infact people need the love of Jesus. People need the Gospel. People need Hope. It's also okay for people not to enjoy Christmas. You don't have to force them. But it's also a great opportunity to share the Gospel. To share Hope.
You see it's Jesus that truly brings Hope today and Hope any day for that matter. I'll tell you what I want, that I really really want. I want to see people lonely broken, sad, discouraged, and lost find Hope in Jesus this Christmas.
Prayer:
Thank You for Hope. Thanky You Jesus that You came to this world for me. Thank You that there is more to life than Christmas. Thank You for Hope for me. Forgive my sin and take control of my life in Jesus' name, Amen.
