Acts 8 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.
Sometimes we can try to motivate people and encourage people and that used to be my job. Truth be told it's often 'humanism' that is saying you can achieve your goals independently of Jesus and have the strength inside.
But I love the fact that Philip didn't use psychology, life coaching, or a motivational talk; but preached Jesus to the man.
Oh that we might preach Jesus. Not our ideas, ourselves but Jesus. People don't need their ears tickled they need to hear about Jesus.
I don't have all the answers or know how to fix broken people, but I know a man; the son of God that is, that can and His name is...Jesus.
All I've really got to offer is Jesus.
Prayer:
Father forgive me for making it about all this other stuff when it's simple. It's all about You: Jesus and You are enough. Be centre of all I do in Jesus' Name, Amen.
