Freedom from MIGRAINES

Matt Richards

(This time it's personal)

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

These are two of my favourite Verses in the bible. Why I love them so much is because they were the medicine that cured me from migraines.

Nineteen tears ago I used to suffer really bad migraines. I'm not talking headaches, but migraines. [To the extent that I would vomit, have to be in a dark room, and not be able to do anything for a day or two.]

I tried everything to get free from them including medicine and prayer.

Then one day the Holy Spirit gave me these verses. And I made it personal.

So I wrote them on a card and read them out loud three times a day. I even put my name in the verse. "Christ has redeemed Matthew from the curse of migraines..."

I soon found I would get excited when I read them. I started to thank God that because Christ HAS redeemed me from the curse; I don't have to suffer pain or sickness from migraines.

I didn't change my diet, or take the injections or medicine given me; just thanked God for His word to me, for what He had already done.

You know that was it. The migraines left. They tried to come back for thirty seconds: twice, weeks after but as soon as they did I said "no, Christ has redeemed me from the curse" and they left.

That's nineteen years ago. Praise God. I haven't had one since.

I believe the Word of God is like medicine.

And has great power to bring deliverance and healing. But we've got to make it personal.

Also I believe that Christ HAS delivered me from the curse. (That's past tense) it's all ready done.

In making it personal and putting your name in the verse, then thanking God out loud it seems to activate faith to receive the promise.

When your reading your bible, if something jumps out at you. Write it down, read it out loud make it personal and thank God for it.

The Word of God is so powerful. Facing some sticky situations? Well the devil's in trouble because you've got the Word and...

This time its personal.

Prayer:

Thank You Father for Your Word. Holy Spirit make it alive to me today. Thank You that You have delivered me from the curse that I might receive the blessing of Abraham. In Jesus' name, Amen.
