Matt Richards
Genesis 41:50-52 Now to Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, whom Asenath daughter of Potiphera, the priest of On, bore to him. And Joseph called the firstborn Manasseh [making to forget], For God, said he, has made me forget all my toil and hardship and all my father’s house. And the second he called Ephraim [to be fruitful], For [he said] God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.
Joseph had been 13 years since his arrival in Egypt and he had spent much of it in prison.
He had been betrayed by his brothers, sold as a slave, and accused of rape. Yet he had done nothing wrong. (Like Job)
If anyone could have had a pity party it's Joseph. But he didn't and he even continued in his gifting interpreting Pharoah's dream.
God promoted him to second in command over all of Egypt. (From pit to prison to the palace)
Joseph then got married and had two children.
First was called Manasseh. This is significant as the name means: 'making to forget'
The second was called Ephraim which means: 'to be fruitful.'
The MSGÂ says: His name means Ephraim (Double Prosperity), saying, 'God has prospered me in the land of my sorrow.'
Here's what the Holy Spirit said to me today.
In order to be fruitful you've got to be able to forget.
Before God can bless you in the place you are crossing over to you've got to let the Holy Spirit cause you to forget all the pain, all the trials, or the betrayals.
When you do, God makes you exceedingly fruitful. Praise God.
In this season, the Lord wants to enable you forget the stuff you've been through. He is bringing fruitfulness. Glory.
Double for your trouble 'Double double' in Jesus name
Prayer:
Thank You Father for I have a hope and a future. Thank You, You are helping me forget all the bad stuff. Thank You IÂ am fruitful today, thank You for double double in Jesus' Name, Amen.
